It was cold gloomy night when a little boy called Tom was making a snowman. It had a cool wooly hat, a big smile and a crooked carrot nose. Underneath the moon Tom was jumping happily in the snow because his snowman was finished.

Suddenly, the snowman came alive and waved a twiggly hand at Tom. Then the snowman looked at himself his hands made shadow puppets. He turned them into a bird and it flew away into the desert.

The snowman made umbrellas with his hands and people fell in love. The snowman started melting then Tom put him in the freezer with a teddy bear to keep him company.

This continued for years with Tom watching the Snowman’s stories. As he got older Tom did not stay as long as he used to. In the garage time past, cars changed and boxes piled up.

Tom worked in his cold dark office on the winter nights until one day his coffee spilt. It caused a shadow of his snow globe on the office wall. Tom thought for a minute and remembered the snowman trapped lonely in the garage. He grabbed his keys and headed home in a rush.

Hiding behind the icicles in the freezer at the back of the garage was a frost bitten carrot nose. He was still there. Tom and the snowman Tom and the snowman continued to enjoy stories together. They continued even once Tom had a son of his own.

Weekend cricket

In the weekend our cricket team had a parent vs kid game. It was unfair because most of the adults could hit a six!

Dale our coach hit the ball so hard I could hear it coming at me, then I put my knee down and stopped it. It hurt badly for a while. Then I bowled Daniel out on the last ball. Then Kayden and I were batting second we almost hit a four every ball.

My Dad was bowling to us first, then it was my Sister. My sister bowled Kayden out. Then we celebrated and bought us a big oreo cake and Sharon got us drinks.  Dale gave us a Kings hat then i went over to the tree hut.

Max got his bottle up then we bottle flipped it down then I got down and went home.

Nathaniel, it’s great to see you working hard on your writing stamina. You have written a clear recount of what happened at your cricket game. It sounded like fun, even if it was a bit unfair to have Adults vs Kids!

The Moon Story

It was a gloomy night in the forest. A little girl called Luna was pulling her bucket. An owl was hooting in the dark, the moon flickering like a light.

An owl was singing in the night as the girl gasped at the moon. A giant hand was trying to grab her. Bob turned back at the well.

Luna screamed at the moon and it retreated. Bob panicked and ran away until he was brave enough to take a peek.

He stood up and took a peek at the girl.

He enchanted the girl.
She watched the moon.

Then Bob struck at her.
He picked up the fence and waved it.

He picked the girl up and he gave her the bucket.
He departed into the sky.
She saw his eye in the sky.
